The Grand Forks Art Gallery offers continuous exhibitions
in its three gallery spaces (see gallery
plan) throughout the year, with works including traditional
and contemporary art forms. The time allotment for exhibitions
is four to six weeks. In addition, the gallery also operates an Art Rental Program with works of art available for rent to members. The gallery invites submissions to this program. For further information, please write to: The Art Rental Co-ordinator. Artists working in any medium are welcome to submit exhibition proposals. Submissions may be made at any time. Exhibitions are normally scheduled from 12 to 24 months in advance. In addition to the regular exhibition schedule, a series of exhibitions called Studio Watch is intended to expose the emerging artist, or for example, very current work of the established artist, or experimental work that may not otherwise be seen. One advantage of the program is its flexibility. These are occasional small exhibits of one to a dozen or so works that may be shown at very short notice without advance scheduling. Include with a brief written proposal: curriculum vitae - biographical information a list of previous exhibitions 8 to 20 slides of your work labelled with artist's name, title, media, dimensions, value (for insurance purposes, fair market value must be proveable). Print photographs may be acceptable if image and colour rendition are appropriate and reasonably accurate; you may also e-mail us a .jpg image - maximum 700 pixels long or high, 72 dpi resolution. A CD or DVD may also be sent. In addition to the image files, a text file (.rtf or .doc) must indicate titles, sizes etc as above. a stamped self-addressed envelope if you wish material to be returned (see * below) an artist's statement and any other information relevant to the proposal If the above request for information is not applicable in your case, (as in the case of an emerging artist), please contact the Director or Curator for procedure. |
